Watch a screening of the film “A Beautiful Mind” starring Russell Crowe and join University of Chicago experts in a discussion of the impact of John F. Nash Jr.’s work as well as the challenges he faced. Nash was the recipient of the 1994 Nobel Prize in Economics for his landmark work on the mathematics of game theory.

The 135-minute film will be followed by a 30-minute discussion with:

Michael Marcangelo, M.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neuroscience, UChicago

 

Roger Myerson, Nobel Laureate 2007 and the Glen A. Lloyd Distinguished Service Professor of Economics, UChicago

Robert Rosenberg (Moderator), Associate VP for Communications, UChicago, and Adjunct Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship at Chicago Booth

Science on the Screen, a new film and discussion series sponsored by the University of Chicago and the Chicago Council on Science and Technology, was created to further public understanding of science, technology, math and engineering through art and dialogue with the world-leading faculty of the University of Chicago.
